5. Clients - New Features/Settings
- When replying to an email with attachment - the attachment won't be sent any more.
- New plugin implemented that will enable emoze to run ALL the time, even in situations where the watch dog is closed by the OS (which happens in situation where there are not enough memory. For example when opening the camera and the browser together). In such cases: there is a new low level plugin that will always be resident and watch after emoze application. Unlike the watchdog - this plugin will NEVER be closed by the OS. In any case the OS decided to close Emoze - this plugin will identify the situation and will try to open emoze again, after it ensures that there are at least 2MB of memory (it will wait until there will be that amount of free memory).
6. Clients - Known/Open issues
- Windows Mobile clients: in Periodic mode (not push), when user clicks on Send button - the device might get stack. In such case - user need to restart the application.
- Symbian clients - recurrent meetinging via the OWA gateway are not synced to the device.
- The default setting for new mail notification is "on" - this causes exessive battery usage - if disabled, power lasts much longer.
- Recurring Meeting with Exceptions are not supported.
- Changes to specific occurrences of recurring meetings are not sent to the device.
- Attachments in Global Gateway mode (OWA): In case user wants to receive attachments – he must Exit the application and Sign In again.
Only than, new mails with attachments will be received.
- emoze doesn't support Calendar reminders synchronization.
Additional notes for Series 60 clients (Nokia N series, E series etc.):
- S60 devices - Backup/Restore of Emoze application itself is not supported, however, emails and PIM data can be backed
up and restored with no dependency on emoze.
- S60 devices - Emoze supports only 'Meetings' in calendar. Other types, such as, Anniversary, Tasks or Reminder, are not
supported and will not be pushed by emoze.
- S60 Symbian 9.2(Nokia N95 and N76): Sending emails is not supported. All other featues: Contacts, Calendar, Drafts and Inbox
synchronization and Push for new emails - are all supported. We are commited to release a fix a.s.a.p !!

- Emoze doesn't place incoming emails directly in the device's Inbox, once running, it creates a folder, named "EMOZE INBOX",
in the device's Inbox. This is done in order to allow the user to easily distinguish between incoming emails and
other items (transferred files, SMS, MMS items, etc').
- Backup/Restore of Emoze application itself not supported, however, emails and PIM data can be backed up and restored with
no dependency with emoze.
- On 5500 devices, the application icon is truncated on both sides.

- Lotus Notes: in some cases user could not enter the password from the Accounts dialog. This is fixed now.
2. PC Connector - New Features/Settings
- The mobile client applications are no longer part of the package. The mobile client application is downloaded according the user selection from the PC Connector Wizard.

- Outlook 2000 with Personal Folders - In some rare cases the folder list is empty.
- S60 devices - Emoze supports only 'Meetings' and 'All Day Events' in calendar. Other types, such as, Tasks or Reminder, are not supported and will not be pushed by emoze.
4. Clients - Bug Fixes
- Much faster receiving of new mails/calendar/contacts after Sign In (it is now done almost immediately)
- Lower traffic consumption due to the enlarge the period between adjacent PD exchange
5. Clients - New Features/Settings
 |
- Support for Gmail (Windows Mobile only).
User Benefits are as follows:
- Unlike other solutions - the emoze client application works with the handheld's native Email and Contacts client.
- Very low traffic is achieved on the client side: The client remains idle and will receive notifications only when there are real events in the account. This is achieved by hitching the emoze Push gateway, which so far has supported only Outlook Web Access, to support the Gmail data source as well.
- Emoze Gmail Gateway works on the Gmail web interface itself and not via the POP3 interface (pop3 provides very limited functionality). This way we support a wide range of functions relating to email and also additional Gmail services, such as Gmail Contacts, and in the near future, the Gmail Calendar.
- Gmail users that have been using emoze via the PC Connector - are no longer dependent on a PC being "always on".
- Security: The traffic between the Emoze Gmail Gateway and the emoze client application is totally secured and encrypted using AES. We are NOT storing the user data on emoze servers.
- Compression: High compression rate. Data is compressed using Zlib.
- Push solution for handhelds supporting IMAP IDLE extension
Option 1: Push your Outlook or Lotus Notes through the Emoze PC Connector
Option 2: Push your Gmail e-mails and contacts (no PC Connector required for this Gmail). Simply configure the device with your Gmail address, and provide our push server as a gateway -and here you have a push solution!!
Option 3 Push from your Outlook Web Access, No PC connector required. Follow up the instructions as described in this web site: http://reg.emoze.com/owa
The following is a partial list of devices supporting the IMAP IDLE extension:
- All Series 60 and Series 80 devices
- Nokia E Series (e.g. E50, E60, E61, E65, E71 )
- Nokia N Series (e.g N70, N90, N72, N73, N95 )
- Nokia Communicators (e.g Nokia 9300, Nokia 9500, Nokia E90)
- Sony Ericsson P-900, P-910i, P990, M600i, W200i, W600i, W610i, W710i, W880i, W990
- Nokia 6680, 6630
- Enhanced security: All sessions encrypted over TLS and SSL encryptions
- New option: users can push their contacts and calendar besides their emails, so new added Contacts and Calendar items will be pushed to the mobile handset as attachments (SyncML format). You can than open and save them as calendar/contact.
- SPOP3 (secured POP3) Support and SSMTP (secured SMTP) - We are now encrypting POP3 and SMTP sessions using SSL encryption
- Supporting wider range of Outlook Web Access configuration

Global Gateway mode (same PC Connector works with the Outlook Web Access instead of with the exchange.
In this case - it uses Web interfaces rather than MAPI interfaces). The different between the 2 modes is more cosmetic rather
functional - while in PC Connector through Exchange users are required to run the application on the company domain -
with the OWA mode users can work without running the connector on the company domain but anywhere. Also, only users that

- Known/Open issues

- S60 devices - when working in "Always On/Push" mode - status message was not updated on steady state and showed an incorrect status.
- Few minor GUI issues on PC Connector and Symbian devices.
2. New Features/Settings
- Nokia S60 devices - Emoze didn't map Outlook 'All day events' from the PC, to 'Memo' entries, (as the PC Suit does), but instead, it maps the 'All day events' as regular 'Meeting' entries, for which the 'Start time' is set to 12:00 am and the 'End time' is set to 12:00 am the next day.
NOW - "All Day Event" type is translated to device Memo (this behaviour defined by Nokia).
- Nokia S60 devices (for Symbian 9.1 only) - Alert sound for new mails are taken from the current user profile as defined in "Email Alert".
- S60 devices - Splash screen removed (except the first run after installation), to improve startup time.

- When installing emoze on a PC with Outlook 2007, when the folder list is shown and then "back" or "Change Account" are pressed, the folder list disappears. - workaround: exit setup and start emoze again.
- On Windows Mobile 2003 devices, When using ActiveSync AND emoze to syncronise the same folders, emoze installation seems to "freeze" until the device is disconnected from the cable/cradle, the installation proccess then continues normally.
- Recurring meetings are not syncronised (only the first occurance is sent to the device).
- Outlook 2000 with Personal Folders - In some rare cases the folder list is empty.
- S60 devices - Emoze doesn't place incoming emails directly in the device's Inbox, once running, it creates a folder, named "EMOZE-INBOX", in the device's Inbox. This was done to allow users to easily distinguish between incoming emails and other items (transferred files, SMS, MMS items, etc').
